My incision is pretty large, but the doctors did a great job keeping as much hair around it as possible. They also closed it up with stitches instead of staples, which sounds like a better option to me, especially when it comes time to remove them in 1 week. :)
My main badass neurosurgeon Dr. S did the braids himself. I got many compliments in the hospital about them!

Update: my sister Amy redid my braids and in the meantime discovered that I have one killer skullet (skull mullet) going on. It's one of my classier looks. Enjoy!

Update: As of 7/14/11, my hair is a-growin'! I do have a couple little weird bald patches (one of which you can kind of see here, on the left), but I'm HOPING they'll eventually fill in.
Back of the head self-photography is not really my specialty. This took about 8 attempts. It's hard for me to tell exactly, but I think there's at least 1/4 or 1/3 inch of (apparently quite glossy!) hair. Woo hoo!
