So lucky

It's important to keep your perspective when feeling a little stressed or gray, and I really am so thankful for so many things in my life.

My health, even with a little brain tumor friend.  Cause I'm nuts like that!  And so stinking LUCKY.  So lucky with my circumstances, you guys.  (Seriously.)

My newfound enjoyment of fitness and Flywheel (and the positive changes I see in my body from it!).  I'm actually in shape-ish for the first time since HS!

My opportunities for fun travel through work, even when work stresses me out otherwise.  Paris, Manchester, and Amsterdam or bust (with fun work friends)!

Living in a great city, actually in the "city" part of it.  I love the buses and car sharing (Car2Go!) and walking everywhere and my FitBit's step monitoring and having nice paths to ride my bike on.

A comfy bed.  A tall showerhead.  My new vacuum.  Tall length Gap maxidresses for summer.  This ridiculously wonderful May weather in Seattle.

A sweet haircut (if I do say so myself).

Us Weekly.  ;)

And perhaps most importantly: My friends.  My family.  The support and love that they continue to provide to me.  Their care, their money towards fighting brain tumors, their hugs, their time at appointments, their participation in the walk, all of it.

I may not be married, or even have a boyfriend (at the moment).  I don't have kids.  These things may get me down.  But you know what?  I have so much to be thankful for.  Don't we all?!?  :)

Walk it off

It's Portland Brain Tumor Walk time!!!  I just got Team Sara, Brain and Tall registered for this year's walk, which is Sunday, July 14th at Oaks Park in Portland.  It's a month earlier than usual, on a different day of the week, in a new (bigger, better) location!

Oh, hey, is that a camera?!

Please consider making a donation or joining my team.  This is such an important event and cause to me, and everyone's support means so much.  Thanks, friends!!! xoxo

I am such a bad blogger

I haven't posted in almost a month.  A month!  I know, I'm becoming a sucky blogger.  But here's the thing: Me not blogging in indicative of the fact that my life is pretty much normal again.  My health seems great, I'm completely used to my short hair (and looove it), my sense of direction is almost entirely back, it's not fundraising season, and I'm just feeling very normal.  And feeling normal isn't a very exciting blogging topic!

There are some things I do want to post about: the final Brain Tumor Walk figures (as a ton of Expedia matches came through recently); my trip to Zihuatanejo, Mexico; my new brain training website I found; and feelings about my upcoming MRI in a few weeks.  I'm planning on getting caught up soon.

With Thanksgiving this last week, I'm (as always) feeling thankful for my health and the happiness that I have in my life.  Here's to another year of life (and becoming a better blogger again)!  :)

Walk it and work it!

Last weekend Team Sara, Brain and Tall attended the Portland Brain Tumor Walk for the 2nd year in a row.  And it was a great success again!!

Go Team!! Lisa, Mom, Eric, Dave, Jason, Nate, Amy, Leslie, Steph, Jen, Courtnie, Jeshe, Mel, and Townsend/Spiderman

Special thanks to Steph for coordinating our awesome charcoal heather and neon yellow shirts!  And the surprise yellow socks!!

Da socks

We had as much fun as we could make a leisurely 5k walk, with lots of bottlenecks along the path, overcast skies with sprinkles, and an early morning start.  I brought my mini mp3 boombox (purchased and loaded up for the occasion) and Jason brought his choreography, which helped spice up the walk.  It's nearly impossible for choreographed dancing to NOT spice up an event!

Cousinly fist pumping

I enjoyed carrying the boombox as well.

The boombox is so tiny!  You can hardly see it in my left hand.

After the walk, and after Leslie pushed the wheelchair for a little girl who wanted to get out of it and walk across the finish line (it was a tear jerker), they did awards.  And I was soooo happy to get 1st place for individual fundraising!!!  I raised $4,541 as of the day of the walk and our team raised $6,391, and that's not even counting all of the matching donations that have yet to come through (I'm guessing it might be almost $1k!).  THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR DONATIONS TO THIS CAUSE!!  I'm so proud, and humbled.  :)

This is my awesome little star plaque I received.  I am pretty excited about it.  :)  I also received a 2-night stay in a 4-bedroom house on the Oregon coast.  Pretty fantastic too!  (P.S. You're all invited...)

There were auction items at the walk, and a girl that left before the awards ceremony gave me her 3 raffle tickets since she was leaving.  I didn't know what they were entered into, but I added it to my own ticket (which I'd put in a box for some wine).  Well, lo and behold, one of my numbers was picked!!  And what did I win.......?!?

A pair of baby Jordans.  Yup.

After the walk, the team had lunch at Fulton Pub, a nearby McMenamins joint, which is becoming our post-walk locale.  I busted out the boombox again and we had a nice little lunch.

If I think too much about this whole experience with the Portland Brain Tumor Walk, it'll make me tear up.  I held it together on the day of the walk (which was an improvement from last year!) but am just so touched by everyone's generosity and love and support.  I still find it amazing that I was able to raise as much as I did, and I owe all of it to you: my family, and friends, and colleagues, and blog readers, and fremenies (j/k), and acquaintances that I've met once, and people that I've never even met but heard about the cause or know of me through someone else.  While I'm so lucky to have my health and a quiet, happy tumor (*knocking on wood*) right now, I know that this can change someday/anytime and I may need future (scary) treatment.  The money donated to the National Brain Tumor Society funds research (among other things), and someday that research may just save my life.  So thank you for investing in my future!!!!!!

What a great day.  I hope that next year even more people can join the team, and maybe I'll even get a walk started in Seattle!  (But don't hold your breath for that one quite yet...)

Blogging catch-up

I know, I've been off the radar for a couple of weeks.  Not intentional!  Was out of town (San Francisco), enjoying delicious food after work and trekking to Portland for the big walk over the weekend.  Now that I'm back in Seattle, I have only a week to relax and enjoy myself before taking off for London (1 week from today), and then I get back for a weekend before jetting (ha!) off to Springfield, Missouri for the week after.  That's out of town 4 out of 5 weeks.  I'm exhausted just thinking about it.  Not to mention the MS Ride is the weekend between London and Springfield.  (Went on a 25.5 mile training ride today and had an AWESOME time.  That 22 miler will be a piece of cake!)

Anyway, I hope to catch up on my pending blog posts soon (the walk! San Fran observations! my SERIOUSLY KICKASS progress with my direction and intuition!).  Stay tuned!!

Going going back back to Cali Cali

I'm headed down to San Francisco today for 2 weeks of work at Hotwire.  I'm going with my (really fun and awesome) coworker Lindsay, so it should be a good trip.  Plus I'm meeting up with a couple friends (shout-out to Sosena and Megan, neither of whom read this blog... ha) for dinner too.

And then... I'm flying up to Portland next weekend for the big Brain Tumor Walk!!  I'm pretty excited.  The tshirts should be fun (and neon bright!), I got the world's smallest mp3 boombox working (for dance breaks, natch), and I'll get to see friends and family that I don't see that often.  Fundraising is going well, but it's going to come down to the wire to see who "wins."  ;)

As of today, 8/12/12

I'm still crossing my fingers that my Expedia matching donations come through this week (it should be $500+!!!) which would seal my spot at #1.  But I don't think it'll happen...  Oh well, I'm still really happy with how much I've raised!  Thank you!!

San Francisco and Portland or bust!

I'm so sneaky

I received a matching donation today (thanks Lynn and Salesforce!) and snuck into 1st place in the individual category... by 74 cents!!  I'll take it!  ;)

Now I'M the one to beat...!  Eek!

Happy fundraising (slash competition), kids!

Raising funds for excellent causes, yo

Fundraising for the Portland Brain Tumor Walk is in full effect!!  I'm gaining teammates (shout-out to Neil!) and getting closer to reaching my fundraising goal.  As of today:

Love all the Saras on here!

My team and I are each in 2nd place for fundraising so far... Love it!  And the other Sara you see on there is my fellow brain tumor dominator Sara that I've talked about on here.  I'm looking forward to connecting with her at the walk!

I'm at 53% of my goal of $5,236 and am hopeful that I'll reach it.  I know it'll be tough but I'm hoping my friends and family can continue to help support this cause along with me.  :)

In similar news, I signed up to ride in the MS Ride, to benefit the Northwest Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.  I'm doing a 22-mile leg in September as part of Team Expedia and I'm pretty excited!!!  I've been riding my new bike quite a bit and went 11 miles with my friend Lynn on Monday, and it wasn't bad at all!  So I'm pretty optimistic that 22 miles will be really doable, especially in 2 months from now.  Maybe I'll even decide to upgrade to the 50 mile ride!  (Although let's not get ahead of ourselves... whoa...)  We're getting custom Expedia bike jerseys to wear (side note: I LOVE events with costumes, uniforms, or otherwise matching outfits), and everyone else on the team is super friendly and fun and excited.  I think it's going to be an awesome time!!!!  There is fundraising for this event, but I'm not sharing my link as I'd rather people donate to the NBTS.  (Sorry, MS Society.  Tumors for the win on this one.)

Thanks, friends, for your continued support!!  You don't know how excited I get to receive a new "you have a new donation" email.  :)

Happy anniversary to meeee!

May 23rd.  It's a big day for me.  One year ago today, I was at UWMC having brain surgery.  Brain surgery!!!  It still blows my mind, a year later.

The day I officially became badass, aided in part by Coolio braids

I just re-read all of my blog entries from the day of surgery (courtesy of guest blogger Steph) and through my pathology appointment.  What a crazy time.  Sometimes I still feel like things are crazy, and I'm fully of the belief now that life is crazy.  It's nuts.  And I am so, so lucky for all that I have in life.  Yes, there's a little brain tumor hanging out in my head.  But man, I have so much more to be thankful for.  I am a very lucky girl.

With my lovely lady friend Casey in Austin this weekend... life is pretty good

I'm not doing much to celebrate/recognize my anniversary today, as I'm still in Dallas for work (but looking forward to heading home to Seattle day after tomorrow).  However, I am thinking of having an informal happy hour at somewhere in Seattle on the day of my 1-year MRI (Thursday, June 14th).  I'd love to celebrate a year of clean MRIs with friends.  Plan to join me (I'm knocking on wood so as not to jinx myself) after I get the news of a good scan!  :)

Oh, and if you DO want to do something today, please make a donation to the Portland Brain Tumor Walk.  I'm really excited and am still quite a ways from my goal (which is $1 higher than I raised last year).  Thank you!!!

Big things

Numero uno: I passed the $1,000 fundraising mark today for the Portland Brain Tumor Walk!!  Woo hoo!!!  I'm making fantastic progress towards my goal.  Thank you to everyone that has donated already!  I love this event so much.  :)

Domination.

Numero dos: I met up tonight with my friend Jess, a fellow tumor dominator, and we caught up and compared notes about our experiences.  It is soooo nice to do that.  We are part of a pretty exclusive club, so it's nice when we're able to get a club meeting organized.  Plus she has something interesting up her sleeve.  To be continued!

Numero tres: My funk is slipping away (I think).  My appetite is back, as are the few pounds that left with it, and I'm feeling more upbeat.  I'm still meeting with a counselor next week but I think that would be a good thing for me to do regardless.  This life stuff is nuts and sometimes it just helps to talk to someone whose job it is to listen.

That's the end of my Spanish list of big things.  Happy Dos de Mayo, amigos!

The walking season has begun!

The National Brain Tumor Society just made the Portland Brain Tumor Walk 2012 official!  Yes, it's nearly 5 months away, but I'm excited about participating, getting a team together, raising a lot of money for an amazing cause, and having a fun day with friends!!

Team Sara, Brain and Tall 2011

Blog readers, won't you consider joining my team for the walk on Saturday, August 18th?  Click here to go to the Team Sara, Brain and Tall page to join!  (Psssst...  For a limited time, save $15 off of the $25 registration fee using the code SAVE15.)

And if you're already itching to donate towards my fundraising goals ($5,236 individually and $8,919 for my team, which are both $1 higher than what was raised in 2011), please donate here!!  But don't worry, I'll be soliciting donations via email and on FB soon enough.  ;)

Gooooo team!!!

Save the date: 2012 PBTW!

The National Brain Tumor Society just announced the date for the 2012 Portland Brain Tumor Walk.  Drumroll, please.....!  Saturday, August 18th!  Woo hoo!  Mark your calendars.

Once the site is up and running, I'll create a team and anyone and everyone is welcome to join Team Sara, Brain and Tall.  Last year I only really asked my Portland friends if they were interested (because I wasn't sure about the level of interest), but this year I'd love to have as many people participate as are interested.  Come one, come all!  Let's raise some serious funds for the NBTS!

We're considering a dance party theme of sorts, where we perhaps stop along the way, turn on a boombox of sweet jams, and have a mini dance party.  The walk got a little slow at times last year, and we talked about how this could liven it up.  To be continued!

Birthdaaaaaaaay!

One week ago, I celebrated my 31st birthday, also known as Sara's "thank god I'm not 30 anymore" 31st birthday party.  And it was awesome!!  I had (I think) about 40 people turn out and it was held in the Butterfly Lounge at Grim's on Capitol Hill.  I had the space reserved ahead of time, got to bring my iPod with a sweet party playlist (that I spent hours working on after getting input from friends... 'cause that's how I roll), and even had a signature drink that Caleb the bartender created for me.

My friends came from all over the place, and I felt so loved and thankful for the turnout.  Besides my sister and cousin, I had friends from high school, friends from college (both in my sorority and not), friends from PwC, friends from Expedia, and friends of friends that became my friends along the way.  They drove from Portland and Chelan and even flew in from Boise and Dallas!

One of my favorite parts about the night was the fundraising that happened.  I asked people to bring a few bucks cash to contribute to a collection for the National Brain Tumor Society, in lieu of buying me a drink or bringing a gift.  And we raised $285!!!!  I am so thrilled.  Somewhat selfishly, I'm planning on holding onto the cash for now and including it in my fundraising for the next Portland Brain Tumor Walk this summer.  First place in fundraising will be mine this year.  :)

I cannot thank everyone enough for coming to my party and wishing me well; I hope that everyone had a fun time!  I was a little overwhelmed by the kind words written in birthday cards and teared up during a speech that Steph made during the party.  But as we discussed before the party, no crying allowed!  So I held it together.  Barely.

Amy & Steph

Aaron, Dawn, Desi, Maria, Eric, Carl, Molly

Danny and Jess, a fellow brain tumor dominator

Heather, Tiffany, Syd (who brought delicious little cupcakes, thanks!!), Cathleen

Lindsay & Kevin

Mindy & Steph

My dollars and brains collection jar (thanks for the crafting, Mindy!), classy cross stitching, and cupcakes!

Casey, Mindy, and Steph, all the way from Dallas and Boise (and Tacoma!)

Karrie, Steph, Kelly, Denise, Sarah

Me and Jackie O'Lantern, an inside joke with my college girlfriends

Megan, Crystal, Lindsay aka Michael, Brittany

Steph's speech :)

My collection jar, my signature drink recipe (F*30), and Jackie O

I didn't end up with pictures of everyone; if you have some, please send them to me!  31 is feeling good so far and got kicked off with a bang.  I hope everyone had as fantastic of a night as I did!  Thank you ALL for helping me celebrate!!!

Holy donations, Batman!

The Portland Brain Tumor Walk was nearly 3 months ago and the donations KEEP rolling in!  A bunch of matching donations from Expedia (thanks, colleagues/friends!!) came in today and boosted my total once again.  I love surprises like these!!

I love winning.  (And raising money for a great cause, duh!)

An additional 8 matches came through, boosting my individual total from $4,535 to $4,885.  And the team total is now at $8,568!  The bar keeps raising for 2012 but I'm confident that we can beat it.  :)

Blowin' up the PBTW, still!

Last week, I opened my email to find 5 "you have a new donation" emails from the National Brain Tumor Society, for the Portland Brain Tumor Walk.  Then I watched as it rose to 6, 7, 8... 15 emails right before my eyes!  I'm not entirely sure what happened, but my guess is that checks were processed for many corporate matches and these are what hit my donation log.  Some of the donors were names (none of which Jeff, Amy, or Steph, my top fundraising teammates, recognized) and some were insurance agencies, but I've gotta assume they're corporate matches that people requested after making their own personal donations.  Regardless, those 15 new mystery donations bumped my fundraising from $3,235 all the way up to $4,535!!  Can you believe that?!  I am now dominating 1st place by nearly $1,000!  And Team Sara, Brain and Tall jumped up to $8,168!

Don't mind if I do!

These new totals make next year's fundraising goals a little tougher (I plan to take this year's final amounts and add $1 for next year's goals), but I think we can do it, right?!  With the support group I am lucky to have and all of the people who gave to help me and the cause this year, I think we've got it in the bag.  ;)

Timeline of the best year ever (*sarcastically*)

My annual August to August day planner/calendar has recently expired, so I'm shifting to a shiny new August to August planner for the next year. Yes, I still use a paper planner. I would be more devastated if it was lost than if I lost my iPhone. But anyhoo. Since my documented timeline of events is about to go out of commission, I wanted to get all the important dates down in here, in case I want them in the future. So this is less of a "hey, what is Sara up to?" blog entry for my readers, and more of a note-taking reference for me for later.  But if you're into lists of dates and events, then by all means, please enjoy...

  • January 3: I turned 30 *cue suspenseful music of doom*
  • January 20: My left arm freaks out, prompting me to get it checked out
  • January 21: Doctor at UW Belltown Clinic refers me to neurosurgeon at NW Hospital (Dr. K)
  • January 26: 1st appointment (of many) with Dr. K
  • January 28: 1st MRI (of many)
  • February 3 through March 23: An assortment of tests are performed (EEG, sleep-deprived EEG, echocardiogram (with and without bubbles), blood work, MRIs) and analyzed by Dr. K, told I could have a tumor but he doesn't think so, clean bill of health on everything else
  • March 30: Appointment with epilepsy neurosurgeon at Harborview (Dr. Mi), after referral from Dr. K; told he'll get in touch in 2-3 weeks after showing my MRI scans to a neurosurgeon friend
  • March 31: Received the "we think it's a tumor" (in those exact words) phone call from Dr. Mi, after he consulted with neurosurgeon Dr. H (definitely NOT 2-3 weeks later)
  • April 15: 1st appointment with Dr. H at UWMC, whose opinion is to do a biopsy
  • April 20: 1st appointment with rockstar neurosurgeon Dr. S, whose "2nd opinion" is to do surgery (which Dr. H agreed with, at this point)
  • April 27: Scheduled surgery
  • April 28: Told by Dr. K to "be brave"
  • May 6: 1st appointment of 3, weekly, to talk with Dr. G, a psychologist (not sure if she helped much though)
  • May 23: Stinking SURGERY, with Drs. S, H, and P (my resident neurosurgeon)
  • May 25: Discharged from hospital (1 night ICU, 1 night floor)
  • June 1: Pathology appointment with Drs. H and Mr (my neurooncologist) - verdict is stage 2 astrocytoma, with plans to monitor (no chemo or radiation for now), most removed but not all (booooo)
  • June 20: 1st day back at work (reduced 6-hour days for 2 weeks)
  • August 20: Portland Brain Tumor Walk
  • September 1 (upcoming): 1st quarterly MRI and results appointment with Dr. Mr

Isn't it NUTS how quickly things can happen and life can change?!  Sheesh.... still blows my mind.  Hopefully it blows my mind hard enough to blast that tumor right out.  But that's TBD.  :)

Best weekend EVER

This weekend was one I had been looking forward to for quite a while.  I got to leave Missourah and head to Portland for a weekend of friends and family and brain tumor domination.  We had PERFECT weather, no major flight delays, and an amazingly supportive group of people out there dominating with me!

I landed on Friday and headed to dinner with Sharon, the Director of Events/Planning for the National Brain Tumor Society.  She was super friendly and asked about my story.  She gave me a ton of information about the NBTS as a resource and ways that they can help me.  They have a peer matching feature on their site, where you can search for someone with a similar tumor and age, and they'll give you someone who has been through the experience that you can reach out to.  When I searched for my type of tumor and age range previously, all I got were really scary sounding experiences (multiple surgeries, chemo, radiation, etc.) that kind of freaked me out.  I told her I was looking for someone who (so far) has lucked out like me, and it sounded like she had someone in mind to put me in touch with.  Sharon was really fun to talk to and I hope to keep in touch with her!  Plus we enjoyed a tasty meal at Red Star Tavern.  :)

So, then the event that I'd been waiting for arrived: the Brain Tumor Walk!!  I braided my hair to let the short part in the back totally hang out in the wide open (hey, I was amongst "my people"), and it felt GREAT.  There wasn't a cloud in the sky and it probably got to about 90 degrees.  We arrived at Willamette Park, on the Willamette River in Portland, and had some pre-walk activities.  My team made me an awesome sign, we sported the fun tshirts that Steph created for us, and we enjoyed free snacks.

My dream team: Karl, Nate, Jeff, Lisa, Eric, Amy, Courtney, Mel, Jen, Steph, Courtnie, Jeshe

They had all of us "survivors" come up in front of the stage, and the emcee said some really kind words about how everyone (over 1,500 people!) was there to support us in our fights against brain tumors.  I got a little overwhelmed emotionally, as I was really touched by everyone and the whole thing going on. I still get a little teary thinking about it.

Sporting my special blue "survivor" tshirt and the badass sign my team made

The fam: my seesters Amy and Lisa and cousin Steph

As Steph always says, sunscreen and hydration and VERY important

Then the walk started!  Since there were twice as many people at last year, the trail was a BIT crowded, to say the least.  It was more of a mosey than a walk.  While it was a beautiful spot, right along the river, I'm hoping they find a bigger spot for next year.

Gigantic me and my mini team

"Action" shot, watch out

Jeff and I

Nate doing some work with our sign

Ooh!  A puppy!  My team LOVES puppies.

The mosey, I mean, walk, took a bit longer than we'd expected but was still a good time.  Next year we've got plans for a boombox, dancing, and a bigger team (hello Seattle friends!).  They gave out awards, and I was very honored to receive the award for the 2nd highest individual fundraiser!  I raised $3,185 in the end!  My 2nd place finish earned me a 1 night stay at a Marriott in Portland which was pretty cool, since I didn't know there were prizes involved.  My team also took 4th place, which was very exciting, with a total of $6,643!  All in all, the event had raised about $140,000 as of the day of the walk.  I am looking forward to raising even more next year!

Afterwards, we headed to Fulton Pub for lunch and beverages.  The service was terrible, so we had a little special help.

Don't forget to tip your Jeshe

It was a really amazing event, and I felt a lot of love.  :)  I have to give some huge THANK YOUs to my team for their participation and support as well as to everyone that donated!!

As if the day couldn't get any better, Jeff, Amy, Eric, and I headed out for a little jetboat ride on the river with Willamette Jet Boats and it was SO FUN!  We got soaked.  Especially Jeff, since he was on the edge.  We didn't take any pics, but just picture us in soaking green tshirts, with dripping hair and you'll get the idea.

These last few weeks have been a fun adventure, with a drive down the West Coast, 2 weeks in the Midwest, and a weekend in Portland, but I have to say: I am SO happy to be home.  :)

Until next year!  It's never too early to start thinking of fundraising ideas, tshirt designs, and mid-walk choreography.  Go Team Sara, Brain and Tall!

It is almost walkin' time!

This is my last opportunity to post before the long-awaited Portland Brain Tumor Walk on Saturday morning, as I'll be working for a few hours tomorrow, then on flights to Denver and Portland, then out to dinner with the National Brain Tumor Society's Director of Development/Events, then to bed, and then up for the walk.  And I can't wait!!  I'm really looking forward to hanging out with my team members and wearing our cute team shirts and sporting my short hair out in the open.  Although I think the best part of this whole thing is all of the money that has been donated to this cause and *hopefully* the increased awareness that my crazy adventure has brought to this disease/condition (I don't think of it as a "disease," but "condition" seems a bit minor, so I don't know what to call it).

I really have to thank everyone who so generously donated to me and my team.  We are still dominating!!!  I will very proudly accept our fundraising awards after the walk. :)

Booya, grandma!

Hopefully next year we can have even more people on the team and raise even more cash!  Please keep us in mind on Saturday morning and send us good vibes and thoughts as we all get together to send a big flying judo chop to stinking brain tumors (and hopefully not get sunburned in the process).  :)

Go Team Sara, Brain and Tall!!!!

VIP with the NBTS before the PBTW

I got a random email today from Sharon, the Director of Development/Events for the National Brain Tumor Society.  Based on my fundraising, she invited me to meet with her the day before the Portland walk "to thank [me] for [my] efforts to support this event and this organization and to tell [me] more about the National Brain Tumor Society."  She asked if I could take a breakfast, lunch, or dinner meeting (why yes, I'd love to take a dinner meeting!) on Friday the 19th.  How cool is that?!?

Next weekend in Portland is going to be a blast.  :)

#1 stunner

Everyone's donations have been very generous to the Brain Tumor Walk, and I'm SO EXCITED to have surpassed those other walkers... as I became the #1 individual fundraiser today!  Woo hoooo!!!

Booya!

I'm really excited... if you can't tell.  THANK YOU!!!!!  These donations are going to do SO much good out there in the sticky and mucky world of brain tumors.

Alright, back to my West Coast road trip break from blogging....  Good night from Westport, WA!
