Jeff and I talked on the phone last night for the first time in weeks. He's deploying to Afghanistan this Friday for 6 months and wanted to catch up before he leaves. I think of him as a friend so it was great to talk to him (but still tough at the same time... sigh). Anyhoo, he says the area he's going to is pretty safe since he'll be in a hospital zone. He's more concerned with being bored and getting too yoked. (Kidding about the 2nd part.)
I'm still nervous about Jeff going over there and hope that he is able to stay safe and sane. Please send him positive vibes and keep him in your thoughts for a safe and speedy deployment!
