Just checking in quickly to let you know we made it down the West Coast (with overnight stops in Westport, WA; Yachats, OR; Trinidad, CA; Napa, CA; and San Luis Obispo, CA) and I flew from Los Angeles to Springfield, Missouri yesterday. Jeff continued on to San Diego. I took a ton of pics and will post some soon...
Springfield is, well, Midwest-y with a Southern spark to it. It's been super stormy and humid and warm since I landed. Today has been almost nonstop thunder, lighting, and pounding rain. It's pretty fun! I love a good storm. From the dry and pleasant indoors, especially. Tonight I visited the famous Bass Pro Shop here (TripAdvisor's #1 "thing to do" in Springfield) and it was pretty cool and a bit ridiculous, in an awesome way. Dad, you would LOVE it. There is also pretty fantastic people-watching here. Pics to come soon too.
I caught my first cold in months, as I luckily haven't been sick since a while before my surgery. It's not a bad one though and I'm already feeling better. :)
Will post some pics soon! I'll be living it up in Springfield in the meantime...
